Another Simple Favor
Updated: Oct 1

I loved the first movie A Simple Favor, it felt like a high-fashion satire, nice and funny to watch at the same time. So I was excited when I heard about Another Simple Favor and it did not disappoint me. The outfits are even better and the twists are amazing.
The sequel brings Stephanie and Emily to Italy to celebrate Emily's high-society wedding, which turns into a murder mystery with a lot of secrets and the twisted friendship we knew before.
It is a great movie to watch with mature teenagers to talk about the need to be perfect and the difference between who we really are and who we present to the world. Do we have different identities or are these all the same identity with different sides? Who are we behind closed doors and who are we on social media?
It is also amazing to talk about friendships and competition between friends. The dynamic between Stephanie and Emily is fascinating for me and we often talk to our kids about good friendships and how the wrong people can influence them in a bad way. So here we can see that and we have a chance to discuss boundaries and how easily someone's influence can make you question your own values. We can ask our teens how much of themselves and their values they are willing to compromise for a good friend or excitement.
Another Simple Favor is even better than the first movie for me. It is funny, stylish, full of twists, and shows that a thriller can also be colorful and fun to watch.
