PRACTICAL MAGIC 2

I loved Practical Magic and I couldn't imagine loving the sequel even more, but I do. The movie is magical, but not about magic alone. It is about family, sisterhood, legacy and how a mother denies her past to save her daughter's future, but it gets worse than expected.

The Owens sisters and their aunts are back, and Sally's daughters are young adults now. Practical Magic shows us in the sequel what grieving means and how important it is to accept your legacy.

I love that the sequel is deeper emotionally and in the heritage part, while having more action and a more intense storyline. The mood is perfect like a warm fall day, the way a movie about magic should be. 

It is again about love, the way we expect it to be, but not only the love between a man and a woman, it also is about the love of a mother, and family love.

Practical Magic 2 is about what happens when a mother tries to protect her daughter by hiding the truth. If you're raising a teen, you've lived this.

The emotional truth is: Generational patterns don't break because we hide them. They break when we name them. Sally has to say it out loud: I hid our magic because I was scared. I left you unprepared. I'm sorry.

And Practical Magic 2 is great to talk with your teenager about trust and how much we need to share with them. We expect our kids to tell us everything, but we don't do it as well. It's great to see it from the other side and to see that not only kids should share their thoughts, parents should as well.

So don't ask your teen after watching it together if they liked the movie. Ask them if they ever felt like you didn't tell them the whole story to protect them and if yes, how that made them feel.

Practical Magic 2 is not too spooky, just spooky enough for a teen; it is not too funny, just funny enough to keep you watching; and it is not too deep, just deep enough to be a must-watch for parents and their teenagers.
